The new 12-inch MacBook is interesting and definitely looks great but it might not see amazing sales early on. KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the new laptop is only going to reach 450,000 sales in its first few months. The low sales are due to its different design (there's only one port on the MacBook) and high price (it starts at $1,300).

New MacBook customers could be scared off by the price and existing MacBook owners may be unhappy with Apple's decision to leave just one USB-C port on the laptop.

Kuo's prediction doesn't mean the MacBook is going to fail--it could easily take off later this year or in a second-generation. Plus, it is likely that the market will respond to the new MacBook with other lightweight, thin laptops with USB-C.
