Shares of Powerchip Technology, one of Taiwan's major DRAM chipmakers, resumed trading under normal conditions on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) today (September 14), according to the TSE. Its share price opened at NT$7.74 (US$0.24), and rose by the market's 7% daily limit to close at NT$8.28 by mid-session.
Powerchip has accumulated revenues of NT$60.02 billion (US$1.89 billion) through August 2010, up 371.7% from a year earlier. The company swung to net profits of NT$10.3 billion in the first half of the year from losses of about NT$18 billion during the same period of 2009.
