Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new flagship family products, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy 6S Edge, in the Taiwan market and the new smartphones will be available starting April 10, according to Samsung Taiwan.
The Galaxy S6 32GB and 64GB will be available at NT$22,900 (US$727) and NT$25,900, respectively, unlocked, while the Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB and 64GB carry suggested retail prices of NT$26,500 and NT$29,500.
Since the Galaxy S-series have been enjoying brisk sales in Taiwan, Samsung expects its share in the local market to ramp up to over 20% starting April, according to Andy Tu, general manager of Samsung's mobile communication business in Taiwan.
Sales volumes of the Galaxy S6 in the Taiwan market are expected to be 50% higher than those of the Galaxy S6 Edge, as the latter model is dedicated to users inclined more to pursue innovtive technology and design,Tu noted. |
