Recently, HP unveiled the Stream 11, an ultra-affordable x86 Windows laptop that goes up against the Google Chromebook. The Stream 11, for $199, works delightfully well. But it doesn't seem to have made a dent in the market, which is why Microsoft is working hard to bring something even better, and more affordable.
A new Forbes report suggests that Microsoft is working on $149 Windows 10 based laptops. There will be two notebooks, the consumer focused version costing $149, and the one for the education sector costing $179. Both laptops will run on Windows 10, and have 11.6-inch displays. Also, Intel's latest Atom chips are said to power these two affordable machines. |
