LG's market share in the American smartphone market has grown while Samsung is losing ground. A new report from comScore found LG had 8.3 percent of the market in the three months ending February. That was a 0.7 percent increase since November 2014.
Apple is still the company with the largest market share in the US and it currently sits at 41.7 percent. Though, Apple did lose 0.1 percent since November. Samsung came in second with 28.6 percent but it has dropped by 1.1 percentage points.
LG's growth has been seen in other markets as well, but Samsung may bounce back significantly now that the S6 and S6 Edge are here. It could take a few months for the effect of those phones on Samsung's market share to show through. |
