Research firm IHS has released its report on the BoM (bill of materials) for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The Galaxy S6 Edge build cost is higher than that of the iPhone 6 Plus. While the iPhone 6 Plus has a BoM of $263, the Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge 64GB BoM is $290.

Galaxy S6 Edge dual-edged screen makes up for 29% of the total BoM, whereas the Exynis 7420 Octa costs about $29.50. These are the two most expensive components used in the Galaxy S6 Edge. We expect the flash memory to be next in line.

Thus, the Galaxy S6 Edge is also the costliest Smartphone from Samsung yet, when measuring BoM. No wonder Samsung has priced the S6 Edge higher than the S6.
