The Los Angeles Unified School District wants millions of dollars back from Apple. Its $1.6 billion iPad program failed and now a refund worth millions has been requested for software that was already purchased and installed. The software is from Pearson, the company that was providing math and science tools for the tablets.
David Holmquist, the district's attorney, claims the district was "extremely dissatisfied" with the products provided by Pearson. The "state-of-the-art technological solution" promised by Apple and Pearson was never provided, according to Holmquist.
Students who do have the iPads are reportedly unable to access the Pearson curriculum and the district "will not accept or compensate Apple for new deliveries of [Pearson] curriculum." |
