Demand for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been greater than Samsung expected. The company revealed on Wednesday that demand is "much higher" than it had planned for and reports say at least 20 million preorders were received for the devices. Both phones launched last Friday.

Samsung has not released any official sales numbers for the phones. A source told the Korea Times that "Samsung aims to ship 10 million S6s and S6 Edges in 26 days after the devices' global launch."

The high level of demand coupled with supply shortages may cause delays. Samsung has already confirmed there is a supply shortage for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
