MediaTek will reportedly introduce a 10-core mobile chipset this year. The MediaTek Helios X20 chipset would be the first 10-core SoC for Smartphones. According to a Chinese analyst, MediaTek's 10-core Helios X20 chip scores over 70,000 in the AnTuTu benchmark app.

Back in 2013, MediaTek was the first company to introduce a true octa-core chipset for mobile devices. Maybe this year, MediaTek will be the first to introduce true 10-core chipsets as well. The report also says that mass production of the Helios X20 chipset will begin in late 2015.
