Thanks to previous rumours, we knew that this was coming, but today Samsung has finally announced a new tablet series in the United States. The Galaxy Tab A tablets is officially announced in the US and will be available for purchase next month, on May 1.

The Galaxy Tab A is available in two sizes, with an 8-inch and a 9.7-inch screen. The rest of the specs are the same, including a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, 2 GB of RAM, up to 16 GB of internal storage, a 5 MP rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The 8-inch model has a 4,200 mAh battery, while the 9.7-inch sports a 6,000 mAh battery.

They are available for pre-order in white, blue and smoky titanium, while the 9.7-inch model with the S Pen is coming on May 17.
