The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will not include Samsung's logo in Japan. Instead, the company is going to place carrier names on the phones making them "Docomo Galaxy" or something similar. Samsung has even ditched its name on Facebook in Japan, naming its page "Galaxy Mobile Japan."

Marketing materials only include the Galaxy name, not Samsung. These changes have gone into effect in Japan before the phones go on sale in that country on April 23.

Samsung has only justified this change by saying the Galaxy brand is well established in Japan. Samsung may be trying to boost its market share in Japan since it is currently fifth with around 5% of the market.
