Demand for the Galaxy S6 Edge is so great that Samsung is reportedly opening a third factory to increase production capacity. Reports claim the company will more than double production capacity for Galaxy S6 edge screens with another factory. A lack of displays for the device has resulted in an insufficient supply. There generally aren't shortages of other parts of the phone.
Samsung is expecting record-breaking sales with both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge but the latter is more difficult to manufacture. A third factory was going to be opened in June but Samsung is moving up the opening date to deal with demand sooner.
Two production locations allowed Samsung to build two millions screens per month. As many as five million could be built per month with the new factory. |
