While the PC industry has matured and is saturated with 4-5 vendors competing in the global PC market, Acer says it will compete to the last through the continued improvement of its product lines to maintain competitiveness, according to company CEO Jason Chen.
For its 2015 business operations, Acer will focus on strengthening PC product lines such as 2-in-1 notebooks, Chromebooks and gaming PCs, launching more smartphones and promoting BYOC (build your own cloud) services and applications, Chen said.
As global PC demand is shrinking, some international vendors have withdrawn from the global market and others have transformed their operations to rely less on their PC business operations, according to industry sources in Taiwan. |
