HTC is going to come out with a mid-range phone just for the Indian market in the third quarter of this year. Chia-Lin Chang, president of global sales for HTC, revealed HTC's plan to launch an India-exclusive phone during an interview. This move comes after Xiaomi announced it would also have more devices available in India.
Chang only mentioned the manufacturer has plans to launch the device in the third quarter. India is an important market for HTC and HTC was the first company to bring an Android smartphone to the country, according to Chang.
Some companies have focused on the entry-level budget smartphone market in India but HTC will not do that with this upcoming device. HTC is reportedly looking at a price of ?15,000 to ?20,000. HTC plans to launch ten devices in India during 2015 and half of those will have LTE. |
