In an interview with technology website Yugatech, CEO of ASUS, Jerry Shen, has revealed that the next-gen flagship ZenFone smartphone won't use Intel chipset, but instead it will use Qualcomm. He also revealed the exact SoC that will be used, which is the Snapdragon 615.
For a flagship smartphone, which will be called ASUS ZenFone 3, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 seems to be slightly underpowered. On the other hand, this could result in a great battery life due to lower power consumption. He also indicated that the company will try to release a new flagship smartphone every year with incremental upgrades in between. |
