Although Apple's devices look very good, most often they come with a high price tag. The same goes with its latest Apple Watch Sport, which sells for $349, but actually costs a lot less. IHS Technology has disassembled the watch and revealed how much it costs.
According to the teardown, Apple Watch Sport costs only $83.70 to make. While previous Apple devices usually cost about 29-38 percent of the manufacturer's suggested retail price, the smartwatch actually costs only 24% of the retail price. There are a lot of components inside the watch, but the most expensive component is the LG display, which is estimated to cost $20.50, followed by the processor at $10.20 and the memory at $7.20. On the other hand, the battery costs only $0.80.
