As promised, during a dedicated event in Beijing, Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo has officially announced two new high-end smartphones, the R7 and R7 Plus. Both smartphones have leaked in the past many times, so not much is unknown about them.

Oppo R7 is a smaller of two, featuring a 5-inch AMOLED 1080p display with a 2.5D glass, while the Plus version has the same, but bigger 6-inch display. Both smartphones have the same specs, which include a Snapdragon 615 chipset with a 64-bit octa-core processor 3 GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear-camera with an ISOCELL RGBW sensor, and dual-SIM support, if you don't use a microSD card. The also run ColorOS v2.1, which is built on top of Android Lollipop.
The differences between models are in a battery and storage sizes. The R7 Plus has a huge 4,100 mAh battery and 32 GB of storage, while the R7 sports a 2,320 mAh battery and only 16 GB of memory.
Smartphones will be available for purchase in China starting tomorrow for CNY 2,499 ($400) and CNY 2,999 ($480), respectively, while the international launch is set for next month. |
