As expected, Meizu has officially announced the m2 note smartphone, which brings better performance at the cost of its predecessor. It is priced at CNY999, which is around $160, but now supports 4G LTE connectivity thanks to the upgraded MediaTek chipset.

The new chipset is an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 clocked at 1.3 GHz and paired with a Mali-T720 MP3 GPU and a 3,100 mAh battery. It packs a 5.5-inch display 1080p IGZO display that has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 450 nits of brightness. The RAM and storage capacity are the same at 2 GB and 32 GB. There is a 13 MP rear camera that uses a Samsung-made CMOS sensor with a five-element f/2.2 lens, and a front-facing 5 MP shooter with a 69° f/2.0 lens.

Another improvement is the addition of microSD card slot and it is shared with the second SIM slot. The body uses the same glossy polycarbonate affair with a few design changes, where the power button is now on the left side for easier access, and there is a physical home button.
