Lenovo acquired Motorola last year and it is close to releasing hardware from the company for the first time. Motorola branded phones and smartwatches will be announced and released in the summer. Yang Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo, said, "we have many new models in development with the Moto brands."
Motorola has already said it intends to keep up a regular, annual release cycle for new phone models. That means a Moto X 2015 could be one of the devices that's coming in the next few months.
A follow-up to the Moto 360 smartwatch could also be part of Lenovo's plans. Since acquiring Motorola from Google in October 2014, Lenovo has been quiet about its plans for the company. |
