China vendors' LCD TV sales in China dropped 3% on year in May but increased 20% accumulatively on year from January-April 2015.

According to China-based Sigmaintell Consulting, China vendors' reserves initially piled up throughout the first quarter of 2015 but cleared out throughout the Lunar New Year period. However, entering the May 1 holiday period when sales typically increase, vendors' domestic sales dropped 3%.

Despite the decline, accumulative sales in the China market from local vendors from January-April 2015 reached 14.7 million, up 20% on year, with the top six vendors seeing their sales increase 10% on year.

In June and July, vendors also expect demand to be weak, dropping about 5% on year each month, and then turn around in August, the firm added.
