HTC has shipped over one million units of its HTC Desire family products, including the HTC 816, HTC 820 and HTC 626, in the Taiwan market during the period from May 2014 to April 2015, according to Jack Tung, president of HTC North Asia.
To cash in on growing market demand for mid-range products, HTC has released a new mid-range model, the HTC Desire 820s dual sim, in the local market.
HTC aims to ship another one million of its HTC Desire smartphones by the end of 2015, Tung said.
The HTC Desire 820s dual sim, which sports a 5.5-inch display, eight-core processor, 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, is available at NT$7,990 (US$255).
Meanwhile, shipments of HTC's new flagship models, the HTC M9 and M9+ in the local market are expected to gain momentum in the third quarter as demand for iPhone 6 devices has begun to ebb, Tung said. |
