The next Nexus smartphone from LG will reportedly launch in October and it will include an IR sensor and 3D camera. A report from South Korea details Google's work with LG on the latest Nexus device, possibly called the Nexus 7. The 3D camera in the phone may be used to provide similar functionality to Project Tango which is used for 3D mapping.

Google is working with Qualcomm on the device as well--Qualcomm is a partner for Project Tango. Other reports have said LG will make the Nexus 7 but a few have pointed towards Huawei.

An October launch would make sense since that is a full year after the Nexus 6 was revealed.
