Taiwan-based InnoDisk, which develops and manufactures industrial-class storage products, has disclosed the company is partnering with NAND flash chip vendor Toshiba and Super Micro Computer (Supermicro), a specialist in application-optimized servers, workstations, blades, storage and GPU systems, to provide SSD solutions for data centers and cloud computing.

A joint venture between the companies, named AccelStor, has been formed to provide SSD solutions targeted at customers in the financial sector and telecom carriers, according to InnoDisk.

Under the JV agreement, Toshiba will supply NAND flash chips while Supermicro provides server systems. InnoDisk will be responsible for the manufacture of SSDs and key software technology.

InnoDisk indicated that its 2011 acquisition of US-based Actica enabled the company to obtain new orders from US-based server distributors and expand its client base locally. The acquisition was also made to pave the way for InnoDisk's entry in the cloud storage market, the company said.

AccelStor was established in November 2014 with a capital of NT$200 million (US$6.5 million). InnoDisk is the largest shareholder with a more than 50% stake.
