A flexible display could actually be used on a future iPhone in 2018, according to a new rumor. Business Korea reports Apple will eventually use flexible OLED displays and Apple's suppliers are the ones pushing the company to adopt the latest display technology. Apple has used OLED on the Apple Watch but has not included it on the iPhone or iPad.

With the pressure from supply partners, Apple will not only include an OLED display on an iPhone, it will include a flexible one. Business Korea claims LG is one of the companies that has put some pressure on Apple to use OLED and LG wants to mass produce OLED screens within the next 2 years.

It is very likely that the first flexible iPhone may be introduced in 2018, as Apple's top-tier display suppliers are working on it.

If Apple only uses flexible displays, not flexible casing, the iPhone's display would be stronger and less likely to crack under pressure.
