Qualcomm probably wants to forget about Snapdragon 810 as soon as possible, as it had a lot of problems with overheating along with availability. Although the situation has been fixed, the problem is still there so the company is trying to fix those things with the new SoC.
The upcoming flagship Snapdragon 820 is expected to appear in smartphones starting this fall and according to first benchmarks, it is faster than its predecessor. It will be manufactured using Samsung's 14nm node, the same that is used in manufacturing Exynos 7420. In the Geekbench benchmark single-core test, the Snapdragon 820 scored 1,732, while the score in multi-core test is 4,970. Compared to Exynos 7420, the SoC scored 1,486 in single and 5,284 in multi-core test. |
