Apple will reportedly receive OLED displays from Samsung Electronics for the next Apple Watch, according to Korea media source Digital Daily.
There have been numerous rumors from Korea media stating that Apple has been considering Samsung in order to diversify its supply chain but such claims have also been met with just as many reports stating LG will remain the sole supplier.
The report from Digital Daily, however, shed some new light in regards to what consumers can expect from the next Apple Watch. The report said Samsung is working on new modules that would allow the device to be thinner and lighter while the resolution, overall design and touch panel structure will remain the same.
Supply chains meanwhile noted that TPK will continue to remain as the major touch panel supplier and that profits from components for the device will be limited due to the device's small size and limited demand in the market. |
