Qualcomm is one of the best manufacturers for mobile SoCs, but lately a few other companies have shrunk that gap and as time goes, things are getting more interesting. Today, we have first alleged specifications for the upcoming high-end Huawei Kirin 950 chipset.

The chipset could debut later this year, maybe with the Mate 8 handset, but at this moment there is no word on the availability. It will pack a 64-bit octa-core processor that have four Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A72, with clock rate of up to 2.4 GHz. The GPU is an ARM Mali T880 unit. There is a support dual-channel LPDDR4 RAM, UFS 2.0, eMMC 5.1 storage, Cat. 10 LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB 3.0, which are the latest high-end standards.

It comes coupled with a Tensilica Hi-Fi 4 DSP, a dedicated DSP audio processor, and another i7 co-processor, that will act as a sensor, connectivity, and security hub.
