Windows 10 is expected to release at the end of July, but mobile device players have held different view about the operating system's benefit to the notebook, smartphone and tablet markets, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

Notebook vendors are currently seeing weak notebook demand because most consumers have delayed their purchases to wait for the release of Windows 10 plus exchange rate fluctuations have caused the Europe market to see increased inventory levels, pushing vendors to become conservative about pulling in orders and they expect the new operating system to be key for a replacement trend.

Although notebook players have placed a great hope on the Windows 10 release, smartphone players are rather conservative about Windows 10's benefit to them and have not placed much resources on related development.

However, notebook players are optimistic about Wintel-based 2-in-1 products and expect Windows-based tablet to enjoy better shipment growth than related Android growth in the second half of the year.
