Market watchers expect MediaTek to enjoy strong shipments for 4G smartphones in the second half of 2015. MediaTek's Helio-series SoC solutions targeted at mid-range and high-end smartphones have reportedly grabbed orders from Sony and HTC, and China's first- and second-tier brand vendors.
MediaTek saw its first-quarter revenues decline 14.3% sequentially to NT$47.54 billion. The company attributed the revenue decrease to seasonal factors and a slowdown in smartphone growth momentum in emerging markets. |
