According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Apple has directed its supply chain to not only commence mass production of the next-generation iPhone 6s, but produce between 85-90 million Force Touch equipped iPhone 6s units by December 31, 2015. This report leads us to believe that Apple strongly believes in the iPhone 6s and expects it to make waves in the Smartphone industry at a similar or larger scale than what the iPhone 6 did last year.
In 2014, Apple ordered the production of 70-80 million iPhone 6 units. Thanks to the refreshing new design, increase in screen size, and several other factors, the iPhone 6 became Apple's fastest-selling and best-selling iPhone ever. Will the iPhone 6s repeat this admirable feat? I guess we shall find out by the end of this year.
The latest rumors suggest that Apple will launch the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on September 18th. The rumor also says that the new iPhone 6s models will go on sale on the same day.
iPhone 6s rumored specifications include a higher-resolution display with ForceTouch, 2GB RAM, 12MP rear and 5MP front cameras, 4K video, a larger battery and much more. The iPhone 6s is expected to retain its 4.7-inch screen size. Similarly, the iPhone 6s Plus is expected to retain its 5.5-inch screen size. |
