A new survey conducted by Canaccord Genuity reveals that the Apple iPhone owns just over 50% of the US Smartphone market, according to a report by Apple Insider. Apple has held more than 50% of the market share for Smartphones in the US since June this year. Apple Insider claims to have obtained an internal memo belonging to the company discussing the results of the survey.
According to analyst T. Michael Walkley of Canaccord Genuity, only 20% of Apple's iPhone user base has upgraded to the iPhone 6 series since its launch in late 2014. The global iPhone user base is expected to grow to 500 million by the end of 2015.
The survey by Canaccord Genuity also notes that Apple iPhone held a constant share of the US Smartphone market throughout 1H 2015 despite several high-profile launches such as the LG G4, HTC One M9, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6. |
