After launching the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Samsung is working on two new smartphones for the high-end segment. The flagship phablet Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge Plus, the dual-edge display phablet. Both of the devices should come out by the end of this year.
Starting with the Galaxy S6 edge Plus features dual-edge display 5.7-inch display of an unknown resolution. It could end up with Quad HD, but 1080p is also possible. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC, 32 GB of storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. The rear camera includes a 16 MP sensor with OIS and 2160p video recording support, while a front is a 5 MP unit.
The Galaxy Note 5 is slightly different beast. The biggest difference is the use of Exynos 7422 processor, which is the company's first all-in-one solution, also known as ePoP. It consists of a 64-bit octa-core CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and the company's Shannon LTE modem in a single package. There might be a version with Exynos 7430 chipset and a 4K display, but probably the company will settle for the Exynos 7422 and a 2K 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display. It will be available in four colors, including black, gold, silver, and white.
The exact announcement date is still unknown at this point, but we'll keep you posted. |
