Inventec has announced consolidated revenues of NT$31.2 billion (US$1.01 billion) for June, up 9.7% on month, but down 9.7% on year with combined consolidated revenues for the first half reaching NT$180 billion, down 18.7% on year.
Inventec shipped 1.5 million notebooks in June, up 200,000 units from May and is expected to see a slight growth in July shipments. The ODM's mobile handheld device and server shipments are expected to see 5-10% sequential growth in the third quarter.
Inventec originally expected its second-quarter notebook shipments to grow 15-20% sequentially, but the actual growth was lower than expected and reached only 12.5%. Inventec pointed out that weak market demand has caused its new clients to delay their order pull-in, but is confident its third-quarter performance will be better than the second.
Wistron also announced its June revenues and shipped 1.9 million notebooks in the month, up 600,000 units on month. Wistron expects its July notebook shipments to be weaker than those in June, but overall third-quarter shipments will see 5-9% sequential growth from the second.
Wistron also shipped 600,000 smart handheld devices, 160,000 servers, 300,000 LCD TVs, 1.1 million desktops and 600,000 LCD monitors in June. |
