Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones were announced a few weeks ago, yet rumours about its successor have started to take swing. Codenamed Jungfrau, the Galaxy S7 could make its return to Snapdragon SoCs, which should be announced during MWC 2016.

The reason Samsung switched to only Exynos chipset is the overheating problem with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810. The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset fixes the issue, but Samsung won't use it in the upcoming Galaxy Note 5. The Galaxy Note is expected to pack Exynos 7422 SoC, which will incorporate the CPU, GPU, the RAM, the LTE modem, as well as the internal memory.

We still don't know if the Snapdragon 820 will be used in the Galaxy S7 or Qualcomm could have an even better chip by then. This doesn't mean Samsung will give up on Exynos SoC. Instead, there will be several versions of the Galaxy S7, like we had with Galaxy S5.
