Processors and displays for smartphones have seen the biggest improvements over the last few years, but there are still a lot of improvements, especially in power consumption. However, it seems that are not the area where Samsung wants to invest money.

Instead, the company is concentrated in developing displays with a larger resolution, and is allegedly already working on an 11K display with 2,250 pixels-per-inch. For comparison, the company's flagship smartphone uses Super AMOLED screen with "only" 577ppi.

The first working prototype should be unveiled in 2018, during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, but we're still pretty far away from that so it remains to be seen.
