Following the recent details about the 10nm from Samsung, which should be ready in 2016, TSMC already released a few details about the upcoming 10nm chips. Although the company planned to begin mass production of 10nm chipsets in 2016, that is not going to happen.
The latest reports suggest that TSMC has postponed the production of 10nm chips by two-quarters, pushing the mass production to 2017. This could mean a big advantage for Samsung, who could have a little more time to improve its 10nm FinFET process, which should power the next-gen Exynos 8 series chips in 2016. |
