Samsung has confirmed the existence of the Galaxy A8 smartphone and it is the thinnest handset the company has introduced. Tons of leaks had already revealed most of the Galaxy A8's information and Samsung has just listed the phone on its Chinese website. Like other A-series phones, the Galaxy A8 has an aluminum back.

The handset comes in at 5.9 mm and it includes a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. Samsung has managed to keep the phone light at 151 grams.

The Galaxy A8's specs are mid-range. Inside the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of storage, microSD, and a second SIM slot. 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, and NFC are included.

Samsung has put a fingerprint reader on the device and the phone uses a 3050 mAh battery.
