Taiwan-based ODMs shipped an estimated 31.302 million notebooks (not including detachable hybrid models) during the second quarter of 2015, accounting for 81.7% of the global total and increasing 6.6% on quarter but decreasing 10.1% on year, according to Digitimes Research.

There were 38.318 million notebooks shipped globally in the second quarter, growing 1.9% on quarter but slipping 9.4% on year, Digitimes Research indicated.

Of Taiwan-based ODMs' shipments in the second quarter, 16-inch and above models accounted for 5.1%, 15-inch ones for 44.7%, 14-inch ones for 21.5%, 13-inch ones for 15.4%, 12-inch ones for 3.8% and below 12-inch ones for 9.4%.

Hewlett-Packard was the largest client accounting for 25.0% of the shipments, followed by Dell with 17.1%, Apple with 13.8%, Lenovo with 11.3%, Asustek Computer with 11.2%, Acer with 10.3% and Toshiba with 4.5%.

Quanta Computer was the largest ODM accounting for 33.7% of the shipments, Compal Electronics for 31.3%, Wistron for 14.7%, Pegatron for 7.0% and Inventec for 5.1%.
