Microsoft does not intend to leave the mobile market, according to CEO Satya Nadella. Rumors had said Microsoft was considering ways to back out of the mobile industry but Nadella put those rumors to rest in an interview with ZDNet. The rumors picked up after Microsoft announced it would restructure its phone business and lay off 7,800 employees.

Nadella believes Windows 10 could help Microsoft in the mobile market. Right now, Microsoft has a lot of work to do since it only has a 2.5% market share and is by no means competing on the same level as Apple, Samsung, or LG.

One way in which Windows 10 will help Microsoft's mobile business is by making things easier for developers. Universal Windows apps will run across Windows 10 devices, allowing more apps to make their way onto Windows phones.
