Apple's manufacturing partners for iPhone 6s chip, called A9, has apparently started. Both TSMC and Samsung begin volume production, but TSMC will enter mass production of the A9 chips starting the fourth quarter of 2015 with its 16nm FinFET process technology.

TSMC is also rumoured to manufacture fingerprint sensors for the iPhone 6s using its 45/55nm process technologies, instead of the 65nm. If Apple plans to launch the phone in September, that means the first batch will arrive only with Samsung produced A9 chips. An estimate 80 million new iPhones will be shipped by the end of the year.
