While Apple has yet to announce sales figures for the Apple Watch, Tim Cook did reveal that the WatchOS based wearable now gives its users over 8,500 third-party apps to choose from. At the Q3 earnings call, it was announced that the Apple Watch amassed over $1 billion in sales during its first quarter on the market.

Previously, Apple had announced that the Watch launched with 3,000 apps, which means that a total of 5,500 new apps for WatchOS have been released since launch.

We've heard reports that Apple Watch sales have crossed the 3 million mark. We've also heard about the sharp drop in sales of the wearable gadget after the initial surge of buyers around its launch.
