Another report out of South Korea claims Samsung is going to release the Galaxy Note 5 early to better compete with Apple. By releasing the Note 5 a month early, Samsung will beat Apple to market and the Note 5 will receive more attention. Both the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will launch next month, according to Business Korea.

Sources have said Samsung is holding an event on August 13 in New York to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, a larger version of the S6 Edge. Samsung had been launching its devices at IFA, but that won't be the case if the August 13 date is accurate.

This will also be the first time Samsung introduces a "Plus" version of an S series phone.

Reports have said the Note 5 will have a 5.7-inch QHD display, Exynos 7422 processor, 4 GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera with OIS, and a stylus. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is the same as the Note 5 except it has 3 GB of RAM and lacks a stylus.
