According to a report based out of Japan, the iPad Mini 4 might be launched alongside the iPad Air 3. Macotakara reports, citing industry sources, that the iPad Mini 4 will be like a downsized iPad Air 2, adopting the specifications of the flagship iOS tablet launched in 2014.

This means that the iPad Mini 4 might be powered by an Apple A8 chipset, boast the new 8MP iSight camera, and support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Also, the iPad Mini 4 is said to lose a few millimeters off its waist, going down from 7.5mm to match the 6.1mm thickness of the iPad Air 2.

The iPad Mini sales aren't doing well, and Apple knows that. Bringing the latest (sort of) hardware to this year's iPad Mini might solve the problem, or it might not do anything. Either way, we're going to find out later this year. Oh, and the report also claims that the iPad Mini 4 would be launched alongside the iPad Air 3 and iPad Pro this Fall.
