Apple's iPhone has seen its market share decrease a little in the United States due to higher Android sales, but the iPhone is doing well in Europe. Kantar Worldpanel ComTech says the iPhone, even with its significant 61.2 million global sales in the past quarter, saw its market share drop in the US.

ComScore found LG doubled its market share in the US last quarter, placing it at third with an 8% share. Samsung was in second with 29.3% and despite its decline, Apple still came out on top with 41.3% of the market. However, Apple's growth in the smartphone industry is primarily from overseas markets like Europe and Asia.

Since Apple did particularly well outside of the US, Android didn't do as well in some of those markets. ComScore says Android sales were "mixed" in Europe in the last quarter and sales weren't good at all in Germany.

Android is still doing very well in some countries such as China where it has a 79% market share.
