Since HTC can't get on its feet from poor sale results, the company has recently announced layoffs that will get rid of 15% of the company's workforce and reconstruct its business. Layoffs are not the only cut, as the Taiwanese company plans to sell its Shanghai factory.

The buyer is an unidentified Chinese company, and since the terms of the deal are finalized, we should find out more very soon. The factory in Pudong New Area of Shanghai was established in 2009 with an initial investment of NT$1.05 billion ($32.3 million) and covers an area of 146,667-square-meter. This sale will put a cash injection in HTC's bank account and help the company to recover a bit.
