Apple is gearing up to release two new smartphones early next month, but we might see some new Retina MacBook models as well. According to reports, Apple will update its latest Retina MacBook models with Intel's latest generation Skylake-Y processors.

Expect low-power Skylake-Y processors, including Core M3, Core M5 and Core M7, depending on what you want. The new 12-inch Retina MacBook models will start at $1,299 featuring Intel Core M3 6Y30 processor, with a default clock speed of 900 MHz and only two cores. There are Core M5 6Y54 and Core M5 6Y57 CPUs available, clocked at 1.1 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds of 2.7GHz and 2.8GHz, respectively. These models will be priced at $1,599, while the high-end model with features the Core M5 6Y75 that is clocked at 1.2 GHz, with Turbo Boost speed of up to 3.1 GHz.
