IFA 2015 trade show takes place in Berlin, and most manufacturers unveiled all their products during first two days. ZTE took a different approach and waited until today to announce its premium smartphone called Axon Elite, which will first land in Europe.

First countries to get it will be France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom on September 24, followed by Turkey, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russia and Philippines later next month. The expected price tag is €419.99.

The smartphones are very similar to the original ZTE Axon, also known as Axon Pro. The difference is the Axon Elite uses Full HD display compared to the Quad HD on the Axon Pro, but it compensates that with the addition of biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint, voice and eye scanning sensors.

Other specs are the same, including a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D glass, a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage, dual rear camera (13-megapixel + 2-megapixel), an 8MP front-facing camera and a 3,000 mAh.
