Taiwan-based handset makers Foxconn Electronics, Pegatron and Inventec saw their rankings in the global top-10 handset manufacturers list stay unchanged or move up in the second quarter of 2015 thanks to orders from clients including Apple and Xiaomi Technology, according to IDC.
Foxconn ranked second trailing after Samsung Electronics, while Pegatron took the fourth title trailing after LG Electronics. Inventec saw its ranking move one notch higher to eighth place from the previous ninth, IDC noted.
Meanwhile, most China-based makers saw their rankings dip lower in the second quarter due to the maturing smartphone market in China and a decline in demand triggered by falling stock prices.
Among China-based vendors, Huaqin Telecom Technology ranked as the sixth largest maker, followed by Vivo at seventh, Oppo ninth and Wingtech tenth, IDC said.
Meanwhile, IDC has predicted that global smartphone shipments are likely to grow at a single-digit rate in the third and fourth quarters of 2015. |
