After several flagship smartphones with premium plastic, Samsung finally decided to create a flagship smartphone with a metal body. The current Galaxy S6 has a metal body made out of aluminum, but the company has decided to use different material in its next-gen flagship phone.
The Galaxy S6 has only a metallic frame, while the back is made out of glass. This will also change with its successor, which will have a unibody design made out of magnesium and will be Samsung's first fully metal flagship phone. The reason behind using magnesium is because it is 2.8 times stronger and 65% lighter than aluminum, but also gets less hot under the load. |
