Only hours after we first heard about the possible new 10.2-inch tablet, Google officially announced it alongside other two Nexus smartphones. Dubbed the Pixel C, the tablet is aimed at a high-end range, runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead of Chrome OS and starts at $499.

The tablet will go on sale later this year. The exact date is unknown, but Google promised to be available in time for the holidays. The tablet will challenge Microsoft's Surface lineup and Apple's iPad tablets.

Specs-wise, it packs a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels, NVIDIA Tegra X1 chipset with a quad-core CPU and Maxwell GPU, paired with 3 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of storage. There is USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging the device.

The tablet is paired with an adjustable keyboard that also acts as a stand, which is sold separately. It connects to the tablet seamlessly and charges wirelessly while the tablet is folded. However, it is priced at $149.
